It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her bow and seven world titles have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing at all," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was out Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
