One 60-day journey around Australia was terminated in the wake of the tragic passing of an older lady who was abandoned by the vessel on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on the tropical location with other travelers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the party for a rest. The ship departed without her and came back later that day after the personnel became aware the lady was missing.

An extensive search operation located her person the next day.

Officials are looking into the tragedy, alongside investigators and the medical examiner.

The CEO of the voyage organizer announced that guests and crew on the vessel were notified that the rest of the cruise had been cancelled due to the "tragic passing and earlier technical problems".

Through an announcement, he further stated that guests would be provided a full refund, and said the company was working "to organize the return journeys of the passengers via chartered flights".
