Approximately twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the region, bringing powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.

Locals observed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by significant hail.
